holy shit i watched mike's mic (youtube channel) recap the movie sucker punch. wow. i yearn for the timeline where i watched that movie as a teen. at least from the way he retells the story, it seems to perfectly encapsulate my psyche then (and now). she's just like me for real!! because the main character dissociates while dissociating... her daydreams aren't fun utopias but just mirrors of her initial reality where she just has a bit more agency, she's dissociating in her daydream...
unfortunately as a teen i watched inception instead of sucker punch. inception successfully touched on my losing my grip on reality. sucker punch would've saved me as a young girl. shit the universe would've turned out different if i turned out to be a girl because i watched sucker punch instead.
