i've played a few (comparatively few) videogames in my life but i wanted to commemorate some that i feel like are necessary for me to remember so i don't lose track of what has driven my life up to this point. you know?
me when i'm too broke to buy terraria so i play the ad-riddled ripoff. and it was amazing.
blockheads was essentially terraria but with minecraft aesthetic and mobile game mechanics? it also focused more on crafting and industrialization over terraria's stuff like combat and bosses.
also you could have up to 5 player characters as a singleplayer! because as a mobile game, crafting took real-life time. so you could get character 1 to craft while player 2 traveled to the other biome while player 3 gathered resources. it was so fun.
like all mobile games, there were gems to earn thru ad-watching, but i recall there was a bug that let you skip the ad. so i was cruising.
survivalcraft was a minecraftlike that had some realistic mechanics such as clothing, temperature, weather, animals, paint, etc. i didn't deal with the "survival" aspect of it much because i primarily played with it in creative mode, but my block houses and swimming pools are burned in the screen of my brain. i have a lot more nostalgia for it than i did for minecraft.
